Finally got a chance to take my Friends Ryan and Jaz up to the station to talk to SSgt. Marunick last Wednesday. That was cool, as it ended up with like, Mom, Ryan, Jaz, Me, Justin, Travis, Chris and his sister Samara all there at the same time, and It was a good meeting, I think.
Still having some car problems, plus overnight, the weather has dropped several inches of snow on the ground, made it painfully cold, and there's more on the way today, tonight and tomorrow. Meaning that the driveway is horribly hard to use, and getting to the gym will be a challenge at best and dangerous at worst. ^_^ It aught to be fun...
Been spending time thinking, writing a lot, but not much of it's any good, so I delete more then half of what I write because I don't like it.
The days are ticking down to leaving time for us, and the closer it gets, the more nervous I'm getting. Not in a bad way, just excited and feeling the crunch.
If you need me, drop me a line I guess, I'll be around for a little bit longer.

Just an update
So this update will be written in my more normal writing style.
Please, forgive if it is more....disjointed, then before.
Things have been rough.
these past few months have really taken a toll on me.
I've been working a lot, and even though I love what I'm doing, it's an emotionally and mentally draining job.
A family medical emergency rocked us, and I feel like I'm out of the loop, because I can't afford to give a hundred and ten percent of my focus to help with that, because I have to be ready for leaving in 18 days.
Car problems and schedules have made it really hard to do much but work and sometimes have down time at home.
I joined a gym, and have been going with Justin every day that we can. It's really helping with getting ready for basic. However, I'm realizing that because of the gym, work and family things, I barely get to see Justin to just be a normal couple. And that really bothers me. I'd really like to see him other then just to go to workout or go to something AF check-in related....but it is what it is.
I have 18 days until I leave, then i can just focus on what I need to do.
Until then, I'm just toughing it all out as best I can....Doing a lot of writing, personal things, cleaning my room, and hitting the gym.
That's about it, other then playing with my Kitten Mooch.
You know where I am if you need anything....get a hold of me if you need.
Please, forgive if it is more....disjointed, then before.

Oh! I forgot!
So yeah, I forgot, I got a Cat!
His name is Whiskey Mooch, though we just call him Mooch. He was a stray that decided to adopt Justin and I one night on the driveway, and he never really left the house. The vet says he's maybe nine months old, based on his teeth. He's a gorgeous and beautiful kitten, and very loving, if a bit playful.
So here! Have some pictures of him!

Isn't he just the Cutest cat?!

Again, More Randomness
So I have 32 or 33 days until I leave, depending on if you count Feb 12 or not.
To keep you up to date, I'm still working, but I stop at the end of the month.
I joined Powerhouse Gym yesterday, and I'm starting to work-out there. There's a DEP call next monday, and for me it will be my thirty day briefing as well.
Other then that, there's not been much happening. I've been writing a lot, and I got my driver's license, which is kinda cool.
So I guess that's all for this post, I'll leave you with a random writing I did yesterday...I should warn you however, it's not a happy writing, though it was not meant to be as depressing as I think it turned out. I like it though, so I'm putting out there for you to decide! As always, comments are much appreciated!
*hugs and lovels to my peoples out there!*
Hollow-hearted Buildings
(are all that we become)
Twisted edges of broken metal.
Score the lines that lead right into our hearts.
Snap the panes of glass along these thin tracks.
Put them in a fitted steel holder.
Use our heartglass to cover up the holes in our walls.
Masking our truths, showing nothing.
But the warped and distorted image of the truth.
Don't ever open the casements.
You don't want to see what's inside.
Crushed stones build gravel sidewalks.
Leading paths down to the walls.
Dust raises from the ground you step on.
The sparkle of the glittering glass in the walls marks time.
Past noon.
Or past midnight.
Time matters little here.
It only goes to show you what the stillness can be like.
Only goes to show.
Shows the twisted distorted image.
Of the darkness locked inside.
The secrets we keep hidden.
'Neath the shallow buried lies.

Number crunching
78
71
72
What do these numbers have to do with the AF?
Nothing really.
Other then the fact that those were my bowling scores at DEP call yesterday.
Yeah, that's right we all went bowling!
Which was fun, when I get over my competitive streak...>_<
I've got 63 more days until I leave, case any of you were wondering. I got to meet the other Trainee Thomas who leaves on Feb 12, and he's really cool. It'll be nice to know someone else whose going that day.
On the subject of other people, Travis final has a ship date! He ships out on March 13, with a finalized job of satellite technician/handler. AKA, he's working with NASA. How freaking cool is that?! Not to mention, any time he gets "deployed" he'll only ever go to Cape Canaveral, Florida, or to Denver, Colorado.
Justin's mom let him know a few weeks ago that she actually plans on coming to his graduation, which was really cool, as the two of them don't generally get along very well.
Other then that, I don't have much to say. My life's chugging along, bumps and all, I'm working full time, and that's about it.
Till next time, Tootles!

Sorry!
Hey all you people out there!
I'm sooooo sorry that I haven't updated in like for ever! I've been really busy working, so I haven't had much chance to update on here.
Nothing mew much has happened AF wise, Justin has his ship date, Travis should be getting his tomorrow. There's a military eats free dinner tomorrow at the Golden Corral in Westland, which is cool because we can celebrate the three military kids(Justin, Travis and I) as well as my Moms birthday and my brother's birthday. According to my mother's timekeeping I have something like 92 days left until I leave. I am taking drivers classes, and should have my license by the end of the month, or the first weekend in december.
That's about it fr now, I'll try to update more frequently!

just an update
Well.
Today's update.
Travis, Justin's Roommate and friend, has decided to join the AF as well. I'm not sure how I feel about this, as I'm not sure it's the right path for him, but that is not up to me to say, so, I suppose I can just support him in whatever he does, even if i disagree. I do want to talk to him about it though. His ASVAB is monday, and he goes to MEPS on thursday.
I need to find a time to take my friend JAz up to the station, because she wants to talk to SSgt. Marunick about joining.
Tomorrow I'm going to the Ren fest with my brother Jon and maybe bear.
This coming wednesday is the Base trip that I'm going on, and Sat is the Ceder Point trip. I'm going on that as well.
In the meantime, I'm not doing much but hanging around the house, and cleaning, and chilling with my mom. And of course, blogging it all so you can read it! heh, can't say it's very interesting at the moment. I'm hunting someone willing to bike with me up to the Wdwd Border's regularly, as i need the exercise, and I love borders. Any takers?
no?
till later then, I'll leave you with this.
A ship is safe in it's harbor, but that's not what it's meant for.
Hugs, loves and glomps to you all!

The Airman's Code.
The Airman's Code.
I am an American Airman.
I am a Warrior.
I have answered my nation's call.
I am an American Airman.
My mission is to fly, fight and win.
I am faithful to a proud heritage;
a tradition of honor
and a legacy of valor.
I am an American Airman,
guardian of freedom and justice,
my nation's sword and shield
its sentry and avenger.
I defend my country with my life.
I am an American Airman:
Wingman, Leader, Warrior.
I will never leave an Airman behind,
I will never falter,
And I will not fail.

I have answered my nation's call.

First DEP Call!
Well....
I have a ship date now.
I'll be leaving for Basic training 12022008 (February 12 for those of you who didn't catch the military dating thing earlier).
In a way, I guess, it's nice to know when I'll leave, even if I still don't know for sure if I'll have 6 1/2 weeks there or 8, but still. It's nice to know.
DEP call was today, and, at this one at least, not much got done. We got our enlistment certificates, and the "Official" certificate of acceptance into CCAF (Community College of the Air Force). Filled out a form, which I have to fill out at EVERY DEP call until I leave, that basically says that my qualifications haven't changed and yes I understand that my date of active duty is(fillintheblank)...blahblahblah. Then we drilled our "Reporting statement", ("Sir/Ma'am, Trainee fillintheblank reports as ordered!"), and talked about the upcoming base trip on the 26, and about doing a trip to Cedar Point in the next two to three weeks. Cost would be $33 a person, but compared to what they usually are, and that we wouldn't have to drive, that's REALLY good. More info on that as it unfolds.
For the moment at least, that's all for me really, my thoughts are really elsewhere, with my friend Jaz, who's considering enlisting, and with Justin, who takes his ASVAB and goes to MEPS tomorrow through Wednesday. Luck to him please, and to you all!!!!
I'll post again when I get the urge, or anything happens. Or if you nag me...I'll post then too. Till then,
Tootles!

So today...I went to the Zoo!
Today, I went to the zoo.
I'm soooooo happy!
I kinda love the zoo, and I don't get to go much.
So I'm glad to have time to spend with my mom before I leave, and I'm glad we got to do it at the zoo, and act like little kids and be goofy.
For the moment at least, that's all I've done today, and so that's all I'm posting!

First Blog!
So,
For those of you who don't know,
I'm Avivah,
I'm in the USAF,
As we speak, it's 23:17 hours, on 6 September, 2007.
From hereon out, I'll list dates in my blog as they are written in the Military: 06092007 for today.
To set the story as it stands now, I'm already enlisted. I'm in the DEP, (Delayed Enlistment Program) meaning I'm not leaving right away. I've been to MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station), and taken my ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery).
Now, we play the waiting game.
I have DEP call on monday, meaning I will be up at the Recruiting station to start learning about basic training, and how to prepare for it. I'll also start having my SSgt., SSgrt. Marunick, call me once a week to check up on me and make sure I'm ok.
On 26092007, I'll probably be returning to WPAFB( Wright-Patterson Air Force Base) In Ohio to see what Base life is like, and visit the Aviation museum.
I'm very excited about beginning this journey, and hope to keep you all updated on my happenings and all.
Please check in often, see what's new, and comment!
Lots of love, starlight and Twinkles to you all!
